Some nice 7 1/2 fedoras I'll be selling some nice size 7 1/2 fedoras over the next couple of months. I've got a brown Stratoliner, a gun metal Whippet, a brown Borsalino or two and a few classic Knox hats (all grey). If you have any interest, feel free to send me a PM, or an email at colesmatthewa@gmail.com. I'll post the first, a Knox 20, today.

Four Ready to Go

Four Hats Ready to Go
I'm going to try to put in links to four hats I will sell soon-a gray Whippet, a brown Borsalino, a brown Stetson Stratoliner, and a gray Knox Premier. I may also sell a black Cavanagh.

Here goes. Gray Whippet. Lovely shape, only worn a few times. Not 7 1/2, actually 7 3/8 long oval. An early Whippet. Has the taller crown that Stetson brought down later. Brim is 2 1/2, crown is 4 1/2 front, 5 midship (as bashed)

Gray Knox 20. 7 1/2 Beautiful shape. Had Graham Thompson clean and replace sweat. Odd brim treatment. Is not a welted edge, but has some sort of a raised edge. 2 1/2 brim, 4 3/8 front 5 1/8 midship as bashed.

Brown Stetson Stratoliner. 7 1/2 Long Oval. Had Graham Thompson clean it. All original. Liner is stained as you can see. The very front of the hat shows some wear where the bash originally met the pinch. I've not got the worn part inside the bash on top, so you can't see it well. In one picture I've given in an open crown and you can see the faint lines. 2 5/8 brim, crown is 3 7/8 in front 4 3/4 midship as bashed.

Brown Borsalino, 7 1/2. This is a real old beauty. Bought in Genoa. Lady who sold it to me told me her dad bought it in the early 50s. Original sweat showing name of store "A Pesce, Via San Lucia" I had Graham clean it and give it a new ribbon. This is maybe the most amazing hat I've ever had . You and bash and pinch it anyway you feel like, it holds, and then can be rebashed again. This is a real collectors hat. I wish I looked good in wide brims, but I do not. There is one flaw, a pinhole at the top of the crown where the original owner doubtless picked it up. I've had it 7 years, and the whole hasn't gotten bigger. But this baby needs to be treated with care. 2 1/2 brim, 5' midship as bashed. http://s127.photobucket.com/user/Mattchats/library/Brown Borsalino

Finally, thinking about selling this gorgeous Cavanagh. 7 1/2 Long Oval. I think Cavs are the most underrated felts. Beat most Stetsons any day and a lot of Borsos as well. Any way this one has the Cav edge. I had Graham clean it up and put in a new sweat. Liner is also not original, that one was damaged. The felt is dense, rich...just lovely.
