I've started watching "Three Broadway girls" also known as "The Greeks Had a Word for Them" from 1932.. will, hopefully, finish it today.

My favorite Rita Hayworth movie (second favorite "Separate Tables") - she becomes a bit of a parody or at least a retread of herself in later films, but it is all fresh and energetic in this one. I think the movie actually benefits from additional viewings as the plot is reasonably complex and, once you have that down, you can watch for the style and character interaction without trying to keep up with the, just a bit crazy, plot.
Glad you enjoyed it - if it happens to be on sometimes and you see it, I think you might enjoy the second viewing more.

He was pleased the Glenn Ford was in it - he is an actor hubby enjoys.
To tell you how far out of his usual comfort zone these types of movies are, he usually goes for martial arts movies, and he watched Tron after I went to bed on Saturday. He's trying to enjoy what I enjoy, so he gets bonus "good hubby" points for that.

Agreed - he sounds like he's being a good sport. It is fun to share movies with your spouse. My girlfriend's and my tastes in movies and books overlap about 80% and we really enjoy chatting about what we've seen or swapping books and then talking about them.
As to Glenn Ford - he's one of those second-generation leading men (Grant, Bogart, Gable are first - and yes, I know there are earlier ones and silent ones, this is just my silly shorthand) that I can enjoy in a move, but whose movies I don't look for simply because he is in it. He did and outstanding job in "Blackboard Jungle;" although, Sidney Poitier did and even better one years later in a similar role in a similar movie "To Sir, With Love."
Hopefully, the more he sees, the more these old movies will grow on him.

I love Sidney Poitier movies. He'd rather play computer games than watch them. I was watching Grease last night (on tv), and he made it through about 15 seconds before we had to change to something else.
I tried watching a movie with him (Apocalypto), but I couldn't handle it. He watched it later without me, and said I was wise to skip it. It would have been too much for me.

"Rush" - Man did I enjoy this movie a whole lot more'n I thought I would. Gained a lot of respect for Nikki Lauda... for speaking his mind and doing what he thought was right. I can understand Hunt as well... live fast, die young and leave a beautiful corpse behind. Well done all round.

Doctor X (1932). Lee Tracy, Lionell Atwill, and Fay Wray star in this "horror whodunit" about an investigation to find a murderer known as "the Moon Killer". Interesting, but in my opinion not particularly effective because of Tracy's character, a police reporter who is used purely for comic relief that doesn't mesh well with the serious scenes.
