Deacon, I have to confess to owning several Glocks myself. I can't seem to pass up a Second Generation Glock when I run across one in good condition. I prefer that generation without the finger grooves or light rail.

Nothing wrong with a Glock, but I would strongly suggest a Glock 23 instead of the 19. The 23 is the same pistol but in .40 caliber, and you can get a 9mm barrel for it to be able to shoot it like the Glock 19 (as well as a .357 Sig barrel). Basically it's the same gun, but 3 calibers in one. The Glock 19 you can't upgrade to a larger caliber at all.

Those old style double guns are absolutely lovely but the drop at comb makes shooting them a problem. I suppose that being boxlocks they wouldn't be that hard to have restocked (and naturally you'd want to keep the original stock for resale if the time ever came) but it would be a labor of love and I'm not sure I love them that much.

Oh I too carry a Glock 23 on duty, have for 14 years. Brutally reliable, it's a trusted old friend with battle scars of it's own. The last time at the range qualifying, another parole agent was there who had just transitioned to the Glock. Her's was shiny new and I was helping her with take down after we shot. She looked over at mine, which has honest wear and some scrapes from fights, and said "What unit are you in?" The Range Master about cracked up. Decided to pick up a 9mm for ammo availability.

FPicked up another Pre Model 10 snubby. Everything, but the T-grip is original to the revolver. Judging from the serial number it is from late 1946 to early 1947.

My father had one of those as well as a 4" model. For some reason I could shoot that stubby better than the longer one. I was in the Air Force and had orders for overseas and told him if he wanted to get rid of it to let me have it. He forgot and sold it to a man working for him. I was rather irritated when I got back home. I had a K 38 , but really liked that stubby, I think it was actually a Model 10

MFG in 1904. .30 US Army with 28" bbl.
Doubt I'll hunt much other than a possible appointment with some swamp rabbits. Hence my trusty .410!

I like the 95, in spite of what most Winchester collectors say! I need to find one in either .30 US or .303.

Nice! I like that long barrel. I have never been lucky enough to find an original, so I picked up a couple of the repro models in .405 a few years back, one a high grade the other a standard with a repro Lyman 21 receiver sight.

LOL, I heard a fun, probably apocryphal, story a while ago:
A guy shows up for some shooting instruction, good shooter but needs to be better. He has a top of the line 1911, probably in the $4K bracket.
The instructor has a Glock of some sort.
OK says the instructor just follow me and do exactly as I do, they start at the 50yd line and the instructor shoots 5 rounds into a pretty good group - the student shoots a tighter group.
"OK lets run to the 15 yard line & shoot again" - again the pupil shoots a marginally tighter group.
The instructor then hurls his Glock to the 5 yard line, runs & picks it up and shoots a tight group.
That's the end of my story.
Nice purchase! I could have bought one back then, not bad price either, kicking myself now!
