I am looking to buy a a Flighter and was wondering what the going price for a post war Bancroft would be in mint unworn condition? I am assuming it's post war because it has the patent no. on the inside sweat band.

Ok, let's pose the question this way: I have found a Bancroft I would like to purchase, is $285 too much to pay for a mint condition post war Flighter? Thanks!

guess it depends on how much past post war we are talking...I have a few early USAF bancrofts in blue from the 50's that rock but not the WWII kinda look...in 47 the Army changed material too..sooo it kinda depends on the look you are looking for and condition etc...if it is a standard service cap made by Bancroft, even with the flighter name in it...I would guess 285 is too much....I saw a Bancroft Flighter made in the late 50's early 60's with the large V badge but still it was the forest green service cap...priced at 20.00 bones...

bottom line it is worth what you arewilling to pay...does it have the WWII style that you seek?
