I don't necessarily blame oil for that. Over here we have the highest prices for oil due to taxes added and stupid boutique blends that the morons who run this place come up with.
On the other side of that though is the fact that cheap oil is also ruining Putin and the OPECers.

Cheap oil means a few more old people won't freeze to death in Maine this winter. I'm all for cheap oil.

OPEC is the reason for cheap oil right now. They're making a statement about the US shale boom and the US's goal of oil independence. They can't have that.

But they can't take that kind of hit for long. We already get most of our oil from this continent anyway.
It is also hurting various terrorist groups that have seized oil fields over there.

Bookplates
Bookplates. I just came across a sealed box of Antioch bookplates at a local thrift and snapped them up. Yes, I know bookplates can actually still be purchased but does anyone still use them rather than just collect them?
I still prefer to read an actual book rather than using an e-reader device. I purchase a fair amount of the books I read, but some are rented from a local library. Most of my purchases end up donated to my library for their yearly sale but I keep my favorites. I love the idea of putting bookplates in my most treasured books. Does anyone else still use them? Or collect them?
