I caught the final scene of "Pulp Fiction" on some cable channel last night. Even though they were bleeping every third word out, the quality of that scene shined through. Samuel Jackson is incredible - it's takes fantastic talent to handle the massive amount of dialogue Tarantino writes into a scene and he does it with an ease and a believability that is stunning. What a fantastic movie - still my favorite Tarantino one.

Disney's Bambi and Snow White. 'Frozen' is a non starter compared to these two.

Funeral In Berlin (1966) classic spy film with more twists than a roller coaster. Again, nothing touches it these days.

The Black Castle (1952)
Man that plot had more twists than a pretzel shop. I'm going to need to watch it again without a chatty four year old next to me to figure out exactly what was happening.

Today was the first day since Christmas that 'Frozen' has not been on at my house. My daughter spent the day with a friend.

Yeah we watched that on Svengoolie on Saturday night as well. Good story, amazing that they reduce Karloff and Lon Chaney Jr. to bit characters in a horror movie. I enjoyed it and had never seen it before.

Anyway, currently watching Fingers At The Window. Love film noir.

I agree LCjr.s part was pretty minor, he didn't even have a speaking role (thanks to those pesky natives who cut out his tongue) but Karloff's character figured pretty heavily into the plot. It never really was clear exactly what his intentions were right up until the bitter end. He managed to evoke a truly sinister player that kept the viewer guessing, and the good doctor seemed to be fairly central to all of the suspense and action of the second half of the film. Of the major players of the genre at the time, I think Karloff was the only one who exuded enough mystery to pull off the role. The pageboy wig was unfortunate, though.


And really, how can a movie go wrong with random recycled stock footage of angry alligators in the moat. I would have thought being in every Tarzan movie Johnny Weismuller ever made, that bit of film would have been paid for and then some.

Quite a cast. Seeing John Carradine that young was somewhat disquieting as I am used to him being older. :p
