OH, those 1970's shoes.
I am sending him some caddy and have directed some views of your shoes and a few others, in hopes he can master finding some super nice shoes. We all learn just as I know we have learned a ton here.
I am looking at some socks....Pantherella seems to make some super nice socks, they have a VINTAGE line...a bit pricey but I think worth buying for Daniel and a pair for myself, too! LOL

I guess I just get confused with all the effort spent on some of these projects. Those shoes are trashed. Cadillac conditioner is good stuff, but they left the magic fairy dust out of the current recipe. It can no longer fix cracked leather nor can it reline rotted interiors.
It is all a "learning process" to some degree. Not sure how bad the insides of those shoes are. But as stated, we all start some place. He does have some hopeful purchases of more clean actual vintage shoes. And I am sure he is looking at what you have listed as well.

My latest: 1940s (?) John McHale Black on Black spectators. They look dark blue because of the lighting, but they're definitely black in person.

Thank you! They are, but I normally wear a B or C, so they're just a bit snug.
If you use some applications of conditioner on the insides of those beautiful shoes, after a day or so you can then stretch them really easy, suede cooperates well.
Those are a wonderful looking shoe. Wowie! LOL!

Thanks! As a side note, does anyone know where I can buy flat laces like the ones in these shoes? The ones in there now were commandeered from another pair I have.
I am not sure if I have any black vintage that are going to be long enough for those. BUT I will look and see. I know I have some white laces that would work...lol! Next time I make a trip to the Cobbler here, I will have to dig some more through all his vintage boxes. I have one pair of vintage laces that are a sort of rust reddish brown. not sure even how long they are???? I think you will need at least a 32 incher for a seven eyelet shoe....and if you cannot find anything or if I cannot find anything, you can have some laces custom made from shoe lace express, they have grosgrain laces and you can have them even place metal tip covers on the laces. They cost a bit, but will last a long time....oh yes, those type of laces are going to be wider than normal laces.

I have only ever seen one other pair of McHale spades. 7 eyelets too is nice.

I have one pair of longer flat laces, but they may be too long! These are from the late 1930's and were made for dress shoes that are really boots....flat and black. They are too long...drats...I just unfolded them and they are as long as how wide I can hold them with my arms straight out....makes them more than four foot long....sorry. I do go see the Cobbler here Friday, if I can find anything that is 32 or 34 I will grab them for you and ask for a mailing address. I have a pair of vintage white laces that would work size wise...will that help you out or no?
I am still looking for a pair or rare shoes to gift to someone, something like your nifty find in their size would have been a killer gift! I am still looking....lol!
