Aero Jarrow Marchers

Has anyone got a pair, tried a pair ......... what's the boot like in the flesh .... how does it compare to the Lennons ??

Looking for some feedback re. fit .. I like the look of the boots but I'm often beetween sizes 8 - 81/2 - 9 depending on the last. The manufacturers are pretty close to me and I had asked if they had anything on a similar last .... but they said the tooling was Aero's and they didn't have anything similar for me to try !

I have had Wm. Lennon's and the 8 was a little too snug but the 9 a little too big (Hobnail boots ... ended up with the factory "stretching" them)
I'm an 8F in a Loake Chukka's ( Kempton etc. ) and Alfred Sargents
I'm an 81/2 width 5 in Trickers (Stow, Malverns and Derby's )
I'm an 81/2 F in Cheaney and Church Chukka's ( Jackie etc.)
I'm a 9 in Alt-bergs

much more consistant in the US where I'm a 9D in a Red Wing Beckmans, Wolverine 1000 milers and Frye's

I would like a pair too. Hoping they will look nice and stylish as I need some lace ups.
I did see a 'real' pair in a museum of our British industrial heritage. Unfortunately they looked like a typical pair of work boots from the period, more like a pair of 1930s bovver boots. Aero's boots look a lot more stylish I may add

I tried a pair last year, in brown with the rubber sole. Sadly, one of the boots had a natural blemish on the toecap, which I wasn't too happy about. In fairness, some beeswax based natural shoe polish may have made it vanish, but for the price I wasn't willing to risk it. I would have got another pair in exchange, but they were out of my size at the time. I'm seriously considering re-ordering now though. The boots themselves are very well made, comparatively lightweight, at least compared to William Lennons which are much, much heavier and stiffer. I can't quite remember, but I'm 90% sure they don't have a bellows tongue. I felt they were a little lighter than Red Wings etc. as well, and arguably more stylish than their equivalent.

Regarding size, I'm also somewhat between sizes, 9 or 9.5. I can fit into a Loake 9G, recently tried a Loake 9.5 F and it was far too long. I can generally wear a Grenson 9 G with a very thin sock, but prefer a 9.5 with a slightly thicker sock. I have Grenson Stanley Brogue in a 9.5 G and they're fine, if perhaps a tiny, tiny bit long. Also, Red Wing Chukka shoes in a 9.5 for the width, although they're also a little bit long but a pointy my nature so all good.

I don't have many shoes in common with you, it seems, but if it helps aI wear a US 10 wide in a standard Timberland boot, a 10 EE in LL Bean's Katahdin Chppewa boot, and generally a 10 EE does me in most US boots.

I ordered the Areo Jarrow in a 9.5 and they were fine, the nearest equivalent I own would be the Grenson Stanley boots, and the Jarrow's felt very similar in some ways, regarding wieght etc. Perhaps lighter, as the Grenson's have the triple welted leather sole, but the leather on the Jarrow is more substantial. The width was fine, just right I think, although I don't know if they're an F or G. Length seemed fine as well. I have a William Lennon boot in a 9 which is just about right, although only because they're very wide. They still need a lot of breaking in though!

All in all a really, really nice boot. Perhaps more suited to street and work wear (as I think is intended) than mud paths and the countryside, depending on the tongue, which I can't quite remember, but I thought they'd make a great everyday boot and not too heavy for Spring and Autumn.

Again, all this is based on a few hours last year with a pair, so take it with a pinch of salt. I will get a pair at some point.
