Vintage Texas brand.
These are nearly identical to a pair of ACMEs I have that belonged to my dad back in the 50s. The only difference is the eagle inlay on his is red where these are turquoise. The only thing not cool about these is that they are too small.

Magnificent inlay and stitching...and all tucked under you pants cuff for just that right moment when it all peeks out...very cool!

Maybe this is an appropriate time to see if anybody knows anything about my turquoise-inlaid AUSTIN HALL boots. I bought them from the original owner on ePrey, just because they were my oddball size (12.5 E). They fit well and I grew to like them (though I don't wear turquoise in upstate NY); I sent them off to Tres Outlaws to have the heels lowered a notch in honor of my old lower back. I knew I could trust their judgement and presto, they are not only comfortable, but I'm no longer teetering on sky-high small heels. And they are well-proportioned so that my 12.5 doesn't look like a canoe with a sail attached.

Anybody know anything about the Austin Hall brand? I was told they are now gone, but were at least on a par with Rios Mercedes, but would appreciate any local insight. Judging by the rather Spanish looking tops, I think these are from the late 70s. And, you'll note that I left the white-outsole stitching in place on these for historical purposes.

Austin-Hall are/were located in El Paso. There is still an address and phone # listed in the online yellow pages, but they have no website.

Those are some might nice looking ones Tip Top. I like the turquoise and black together. I would guess even in NY you could just leave your britches legs pulled over the tops.

I once had a couple of Austin Hall boots ordered probably 30 years ago. Entirely custom made from foot pattern and measurements by mail order at the time. They were well made and offered a nice hide selection. Unfortunately over the years they ended up too night...and several years ago I gave them away.

TipTop,

No more Austin Hall or Joe Hall boots as far as a company is concerned but their boots show up from time to time on both E sites. Austin Halls were famous/popular for their inlay work, especially the different butterfly boots. And the boots were done well, with a great degree of precision not seen in any modern, factory production boot.

Your boots f$&@;:g rock, with the color combo and the collar matching the inlay. I've never seen that in an Austin Hall boot before. They're most noted for their butterfly and eagle inlay boots, and outside of those, all I have seen are solid black boots.

While we're on the topic of out-of-the-ordinary pull straps, anyone got some mule ears?

Here's mine......

Dude, love those black and white inlays with the mule ears. Maker?
B&W ones don't have a mark on them anywhere. Size, maker, nuthin'. Got 'em from Katie K up in Nashville about 14 or 15 years ago. Guessing they're from Mexico.

Card and dice boots made for me by Champion Attitude.

The plain ones are Lucchesse. I posted them recently with a brand new pair of blue jeans. The tops weren't showing in those pics. One of those right place, right time, got a few dollars burning a hole in my pocket purchases. You don't have any like that, do you?
