So... a lot of young guys -- hipsters -- have taken to Trilbys and fedoras. But they really don't seem to be doing it right.
And then... there's this:
This was offered way back in 2009 by Japanesse brand Phenomenon never made again.
This is a draw back of Fedora's as a Fedora is a fitted hat that requires a lot of stock for a store to carry as well as a manufactor to make the hats.
It requires lots of hat block's to cover all the head sizes. When you go to a hatters shop you start to see how much of an investment in equipment is required to make a Fedora. There have been many attemp's over the years to make adjustable Fedora's and newboy's.

The arguments about the economics of hat making/inventory stock makes a lot of sense and I'm sure you are correct that it is a huge factor in coming up with "products" like this.
It's a one-size-fits-all as opposed to the typical option we get with most modern wool brimmed hats, that is "small," "medium," and "large" instead of traditional 1/8 based sizes.

This why a hatter friend of mine in Germany stopped making men's hats. He still makes some women's hats because they are mostly interested in the look and will accept modifications regarding sizing.

Looks more like a novelty party hat or a cheap hat sold at events where they would be worn one time.
I can't believe anyone would actually put this on and think it looked good.... But, I can see it being sold at certain out door events like a festival, concert, flea market or sports event.
I wouldn't wear one, but I also wouldn't wear one of those hats with the beer holders on the sides or any number of cheap hats I see being sold at the beach.

I am guessing you could sell a fair number of those items at events such as DragonCon, ComicCon and so forth. Not a piece of headwear/ clothing I would add into my collection but....well, best of luck with it.

I have a feeling some misguided girl cut that out she she could wear the hat with her ponytail. It might just work too, but hard on the hat.
