it's visible enough, and since on the chest you'll hardly ever develop any wear pattern to obscure it...I'd say call them

on the plus side, I think now you can compare which position of the pocket look best proportionally.

For what it's worth, and what Seb Lucas already stated; I've rarely seen an original with perfectly aligned chest pockets. Schott was always good that way, though... It's a gorgeous jacket, in any case.

PN, I hate to join the chorus but, notwithstanding the considerable positive aspects of your new jacket, the misaligned chest pockets depicted in your photo are a meaningful shortcoming and would be a definite deal breaker for me. Sorry dude. On the other hand, I have little doubt that Dave would remake the jacket for you with better aligned chest pockets.

Hmmm, you ARE talking to a very fussy bunch here, myself included.
I'm wondering how noticable it is when worn? Most people will have natural posture preferences (lean slightly to the left / right) and it may cancel any visual effect.

To be honest though, for a price of over $1,000, I think it's reasonable to contact the manufacturer.

The other thing that ****s me living here in Aust, is that these mistakes CAN be rectified, but you, the purchaser, are still up for at least $100 to post it back & the customs duties you likely paid are also gone.

I wish you well Protien as this is otherwise a very, very nice jacket.

RMC?

I noticed it pretty quickly in the mirror when I tried on, I'll email Dave with a pic and see what he says.

I once collected original vintage MC jackets including quite a few cafe style until I finally realized that finding one that fit my long arms was a rarity. However, I don't remember any cafe chest pockets being so obviously misaligned.

First off, the jacket is really gorgeous, I'm very impressed by the hide. I do agree; however, that a remake is probably in order. I know that for me it would always be a nuisance.

I know that this has been discussed recently, but from the look of your Shinki and seeing RMC Shinki pics, I do believe now that DD and JC do get Shinki to NOT roll the hides as much as is typical, as their jacket seem to have much more grain coming out of the box. (unless they are doing something themselves to the leather upon arrival)

I think they sometimes do a water treatment to pop the grain. I'm not sure if this is correct, I read on one of DD leather descriptions that he does something like that to one of his A2 leathers....

Could be, he does that to the Combat Crew A-2 with great results.

Yep..John did state in the past that they were special ordering the Shinki hide like that to retain the grain. I don't think John or DD are normally doing anything special after they receive it.
