Good morning, I know most of you know I work for Sunbody hats. I've been working hard getting my supplies together and in the meantime restoring old hats for customers. I just got some new blocks in and should be up and running in 3 months. I wanted to share a Stetson I just restored and reblocked he wanted to change it from a cattleman to a telescope crown. Definately thankful you can't see the old crease. All hand creased on the telescope crown I didn't use a block, something I've learned while being at Sunbody hats. I'm working on branching out into my own company soon. I know it's been a long time since I've been on the blog, but finally making my dreams come true. Enjoy gents and ladies, glad to be back on the lounge.

DSC00756.jpg Congratulations and best wishes for your new endeavor coble. I hope you don't suffer the same affliction that I do. Every time I complete a new custom hat for a someone I want to keep it for myself and experience some "separation anxiety" when it's gone. In fact I'm still missing this little gray on gray job that fit me soooo well.

I know the feeling, especially when the size is close to one's own. But after a few years you can get to be like that chef in the steakhouse who would rather have just about anything for dinner other than prime rib.

Nice lookin' hat, by the way. I take it you shipped it out with an open crown?

Hey tonyb. Yep, open crown with bashing instructions unless otherwise specified. Your probably right on with the chef analogy, but for now, I still love the prime rib.

If my Husband or I could make hats as you do, we would have to lease a large estate home to hold them all. Not knocking anyone's hat making skills but Tony you still take top shelf here with us!

That hat is sharp! Has a real vintage look to it as well!

@humanshoes, first off beautiful lid. I've had a lot of help this past week from advice from Bob Jessee and Art Fawcett, Art went an extra mile today on helping me further. Thank you for the support. I can't wait to share my designs.

Thanks coble. Sounds like you're getting help from the best. I've been amazed at the willingness of the "masters" to share the once closely held secrets of the hatter's art.

Thanks to Art, actually a huge thanks to Art Fawcett for all his help, I'm closer to getting my supplies. So I figured I'd mention that my first design could be a safari style hat, it will Definately be some sort of fedora. I am also working on a cap line.

I'll look forward to seeing that one coble. I've always been a fan of that particular style. No one pulled it off better than Stewart Granger. Stewart Granger.jpg

My goal is to be up and running before Christmas ready for orders with the first model. The direction I am taking my hat company is towards an outdoors style hat company. i have a hat design which will be the first model that is an all around beater of a hat which will be made in a western beaverfelt. The model I've designed will have the option for stampede string, and eyelets.

Happens to me quite frequently with my caps!
Coble, looking forward to seeing your hats and caps and I hope everything works well for you!
