woukd you loungers be interested in a beaverfelt flat cap? Possibly an 8 panel? I've been working on the design, this is the prototype of the flat cap, but I've been wanting to up the custom style of these caps and making them in beaverfelt and was wondering if theirs an interest in such caps?

Did you make one coble? Would be interesting to see if you can mold/bash the cap in shape.

I'm in the process, figured I'd make one for myself and post it either way just to see everyone's reaction. I thought of the beaverfelt flat cap for that reason you could steam it to shape, it be great for a winter time cap, plus I'd have a Reeded sweatband inside. I know it's thinking outside the box and so forth. But did you know the military used to hav felt caps, I brought this idea to Matt Deckard and he told me that cool information.
I am making one for myself because I'm interested in a dress weight beaverfelt cap. I have a week off of work this month so I figured I'd knock it out then. So I will post it up for people to see. If your interested in it let me know, if not it's okay I understand traditional.

But did you know the military used to hav felt caps,

Some special forces still do...

Good idea trying different materials to make hats with but if you are going to use beaver felt then unshellaced (is there such a word ) would be best me thinks. There are a few reasons why soft fabrics are used for this particular type of headwear, being able to stuff them in a pocket is a good one for a start. :D

When I talk to my felt provider I'll discuss what I'm going for, to see if they can non shellac the beaverfelt, also make it able to pack and carry easily. That's good thoughts.
