Believe it or not I soaked my new Aero FQHH cafe racer in cold water and then wore it afterwards in an effort to stretch it out a bit. I even did some jumping jacks and other exercises in it..and...well I hate to admit this but I actually slept in it for several hours before it got too hot and I had to take it off. The only adverse affect was the red lining ran a bit - other than that it is fine and it actually did stretch out enough to give me a bit more breathing room. While it was wet I very gently sort of tugged on it in certain places to assist in the stretching.

wear it often and wear it everywhere....best way to break it in...
I also am a believer in sleeping in the FQHH...does wonders for shortening the break in period.
A few images of my brown FQHH Maxwell at the 4-week mark...
Can't wait for cooler Fall weathers to come so I can get these beauties back on!

Here are some photos of my Cossack after two years of riding in it. It truly is a beautiful leather. I do wish it didn't, in certain light, look purple-ish. But, that withstanding, it's been a pleasure to see it develop patina.

As for breaking it in, I took the advice given to me here. I noticed a rain storm had started, so I put the jacket on, walked outside until I was pretty thoroughly wet (though not soaking), and wore it dry inside. It immediately softened up.

Never quite understood the need to rush outside to catch a rainstorm, not only getting the jacket wet, but yourself as well. Especially when hanging a jacket in the shower and wetting it down with a plastic spray bottle is just as effective. Then letting much of the surface water run off into the tub or shower before putting it on and wearing until completely dry, but then I'm not so keen on walking or even riding my motorcycle in the rain. Maybe I'm missing something (?).

Ha. I don't know, man. I don't melt in the rain, so I'm not too worried about it. I didn't stand out in a hurricane like an idiot. I just walked outside and stood for about five minutes in a light late summer shower.

I don't like riding in the rain that much either, but sometimes you get caught in a storm.

The weather varies quite a bit depending on where you are in NM. I'm in the southwest part of the state, but elevated (~3,000 feet), so it's nice and cool here, especially in the evenings. In the northern part of NM, it gets much colder, especially in winter. Here in Silver City, it will average in the 40's during winter.

The best part about the shift, though, is the reduction in humidity. It's about half as humid, if not a bigger difference than that. So even when it gets to 90, as it did today, I can still walk around without feeling like I'm strolling through a bathtub.

Perfect riding weather here right now. Sunny every day, 80's in the afternoon, 60's at night.

That's great, man. I know when that first front comes through, my mood brightens significantly. It would be awesome to live in that comfortable weather year round.
