HELP--Hat band sliding up tapered crown

I tried using a Search for this questions but the hits were so voluminous that I simply didn't have enough time to wade through all of them to see if any gave a suitable answer. If there is a thread for this, please post a link for me. Thanks in advance!

I have a straw hat that I want to change the band on. The crown is tapered just enough that a standard wrap-around, 2 hook band slides up the crown and looks atrocious. So who do I prevent this and get the band to sit correctly on the brim?

I though about placing 2 or 3 hooks around the bottom of the band and hooking them into the straw at various intervals. I also kicked around the idea of hot gluing a simple band around the hat to serve as sort of an anchor for the more decorative bands but I don't know if that would really work either. Also, since I want to be able to change hat bands at whim, I don't want to simply hot glue a decorative band on there and leave it.

So I'm left with my question: How can I get a pleated fabric band to sit on the brim and not slide up the crown?

Not a perfect solution to being able to change at whim, but two-sided tape may work.

That's what I use. Down the road, any residue can be removed with a bit of naphtha (lighter fluid)

on a straw I usually tack it with one or two tiny spots of hot clue

works like a charm

holds strong but will come of pretty easy when desired

you could sew it on

Another vote for two sided tape.

I think sewing it might make it more difficult to remove if/when I want to change to a different color band.

I normally sew under the bow with a little stitch, it's still easy to remove if you would want to change.

Well, the pugs I have are the aftermarket wraps with a small hook on each end that fastens to the straw weave. They don't have bows exactly. I tried hit gluing a simple pug band around the crown to act as an anchor of sorts for my more decorative pugs but it didn't work as I'd hoped.

That's what I do. Just one stitch on each side of the hat, and you can take it off with just two tweaks of scissors.
