My condolences on your father. That hat is amazing. I've never seen a brim like that before. I have enough trouble putting binding on a round brim. What an artist.

I was going to comment on the hat when the thread was first posted, but I wanted to be 100%truthful, and I wasn't sure if I liked the octogonal brim... As a tribute to your dad, and the multifaceted symbolism attached to the project, it is wonderful.
I looked at the photo which displays the brim many times, and I can now say that I really do like it. It is very unique, and the overall design of the hat is very well balanced. Your "design team" and maker did an excellent job.
The hat has an overall elegant look to it, and the jade hat pin is a nice accessory.
Do you wear the hat with a suit, or when you dress up? Take a shot of yourself modeling the hat if you would... I bet you pull off the look very well!

Thank you for the continued kind words. Lest you all think I'm a very serious person who made a very serious tribute to a very serious dad, here is a photo of me taken today while the family was out for lunch and coffee. My dad loved food and we had many a fine conversation over coffee and pastries. Enjoy!
