Thanks. The italians are still able, to manufacture this well made ones, you see.

If you can part the flatcaps in three categories of quality (bad, good average, over average), this one seems to be over average! The most, you can get in Germany, are the good average-ones.
But there are bad ones, too. For example the cheap flatcaps of C&A or H&M. They are visible cheaper made than the good average-ones and definetly "inconvinient", to me.

I am more of a larger cap wearer. The smaller cap just don't allow for a lot of different wearing options. Meaning they don't let you tilt the cap or adjust the drape of the cap to your liking. They have one way they sit on your head and that's it. Sort of a dressy ball cap look.

Thanks, Foamy. I also agree with Wiser Hatter! I ran an errand last night in a Kangol 504. It's a small profile. It allows some told and drape, but very limited. I've seen them look very good on some old dapper gents. But when I passed a full-length mirror and saw myself in that cap, I didn't like it at all. I wanted to interrupt my errand, go back home and pull out a larger, wider, more period-like cap!

Been away a bit - thanks for the nice words about my bow tie, gents!

Some nice caps posted up here - nice to see some new faces mixing with us old buggers!

I find the large/small cap debate quite a fascinating one. I started wearing close-fit smaller caps for a year or two, then when I got into a larger cap, the smaller ones started to look wrong on me, and I never looked back!
