Anybody remember this show? I'm thinking Michael Parks wearing an A-2. But I'm not sure. Oddly with a Navy knit watch cap.

I remember the show, and I remember the watch cap, but I don't think it was an A-2. Seems that it was navy blue or black, and not leather. It's been a long time ago, and I just barely remember the show. Probably only saw it a time or two, if that. With him riding a bike, I would think the jacket would be leather, but that's just not the way I remember it--forty years later. Maybe it was a wool coat? I'm sure someone else will know the details; they know everything else!

goin' down that long, lonesome highway

a "mandarin-collar" (never thought of it that way:) ) leather jacket kinda like this one www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=101464. My mom liked that show and sometimes I was allowed to stay up and watch it. Loved that show. Unearthed a Michael Parks album from my collection just the other day. So, no, not an A-2, to stay firmly on topic. I remember there was a MAD parody of this show that probably shows the jacket, but alas I don't own it. We weren't allowed to own comics.

After doing some research, I see that it was a brown leather jacket, but with a different collar than an A-2--perhaps a "Mandarin collar" as John suggested.

Great pic of Parks! I think I watched every episode of that show. It was certainly his staring role. After that,he played a few quirky charactors,as I recall. Nothing like Bronson. Always wanted a Sportster after watching his adventures each week. Now I finally have one. However, they've come a long way from the antique that he rode!

I watched this show regularly during its original run. I remember it as being mostly great: it was like a later variation on "Route 66" that wasn't afraid to confront the confusion of the later 60s.

Kind of like a Member's Only - in black leather. Great show. I think the show was a spin-off of a movie. One night I cought the "pilot" movie on a late night broadcast, and there was a full front nudity scene of some gal running down the beach. I'm pretty sure that didn't air that way on TV, I don't think the FCC caught the slip up.

I remember the TV pilot episode, which also starred Charlie Sheen--
albeit briefly before his character suicided by jumping the
Golden Gate bridge.

I think that jacket may be a standard "racing" type motorcycle jacket. I have one in black leather, much heavier, that has the same type collar and is somewhat similar in design (although my jacket has zippered vents front and rear). Didn't make the connection with the collar before just now when I saw the picture again. Maybe because I wore the jacket today when I rode my bike!

So long ago that I can't remember many of the specifics...but surely you mean Martin Sheen. I don't think son,Charlie was around at that time.
