Just got a new F/S Historical Horsehide a couple of weeks ago. It's breaking in nice but the pigments starting to wear off at the ususal spots and under it is a darker tanning. It looks like crap, but I am starting to get attached to the fit. I called F/S and they would refund it or replace it, but I dont want to send it in yet. Anyone else have someting like this happen. This is my first horse. I have cow and goat and they all wear lighter.

F/S ???

What's F/S? Flight suits in California?
I have one of their historical horsehide A2 - russet brown. No problems like that. It takes some time to break it in - but after that it just gets better and nicer. Great quality.:eusa_clap

Flight Suits Horsehide

yep Flight Suits / Gibson & Barns. This is the first one I bought from them and figured from all the positive hype it would be OK, but the pigment isn't right. They told me it might be a bad batch of leather, but I breifly read a post on here about someone else having the same problem. The jacket itself is realy nice though.

I've never heard about that happening on an FS HH....but it has happened on some LostWorld's HH A2s. I'd say it isn't the norm...and would definately trade it for another. Dark undercoat wearing through just isn't preferable at all IMO.

I got the russet color. I may have got a bad batch of leather. The pigment is not the same color as the dye. It looks like the leather was dyed mahogony and they pigmented it russet. I don't know exactly what happened here, but I'm sending it back to FS. They were good about the problem. I hope I cam get a good one, they have a nice product.
