I've accumulated over 300 signed books in the last three years, and I've left quite a few behind as well. I count myself truly lucky to live in a large city...lots and lots of thrift stores.

Wow. No kidding. I live in a far more rural environment. We have two major book stores in town and one privately owned small book store. We had a small used book store that was just wonderful to sneak in and see what they had on the shelves. Being a history nut I found lots of amazing things.

1st edition prints of Brave Men by Ernie Pyle and 30 seconds over Tokyo.

Interestingly, whoever owned the 30 seconds must have known a LOT of the crew that bombed Japan as it had a lot of hand written notes in it about who died, who made it, who was captured. I do know that a small town 15 miles from here had an Army Air Corp. airport there. The local police shooting range used the backstop they used to calibrate machine guns with. It was gigantic. You had to be careful about not tripping over the tie-downs.

I got out to do a walk around (looking for marijuana growers) and found an old .45 cal magazine in the woods.
