Help creating a 1920s evening/flapper look.

Ok ladies, I am a 1940s and 50s gal wi my look most of the time but we have a 1920s themed party coming up and I have decided to wear 1920s evening / flapper look (go big or go home right?). My dress is blush pink with silver and pewter beading, my shoes are silver t-straps and I have a silver and blush ribbon tie headband. So with that in mind so, I need help with hair and makeup.

My hair is longish, just past my shoulders, and I am not going to cut it. I am under the impression long hair would have been worn with close fingerwaves in the front and a low chignon style bun in back is that correct?


Now if the make up department I will need a bit more assistance, I don't know colors or trends, any good video tutorials would be much appreciated. Also what were nail polish colors, I feel like burgundy was a popular color but that is very possibly wrong too. Here are a couple of pictures so you so you know what I am working with. One has a more vintage hair and make up and the other is more my natural make up, also my hair is a bit longer now.

My avatar--I used my small caruso rollers on the front parts, rolling from part toward ears. I took them out, combed it, and put in wave clips, then sprayed with hairspray and let that dry while I did my makeup. My hair is hip-length, so I had to do a low bun in back. I chose an infinity (a sideways figure-eight) because that was a popular one back then and it spreads horizontally. I didn't want a really round bun. Your hair is short enough that you could make a couple of little rosettes side-by-side. The headband is just a necklace pinned in there.
