Optimizing the fit of my Aero Sheene

A little late to the game but I'd like to share something I learned about jacket fit and this will pertain to whether you wear '40s style trousers all the time or the newer lower waist but crack exposing style of today.

Put your trousers on properly - that is just a little snug in the crotch not tight - measure the length of the zipper box from the top waist of the trouser to the bottom seam of the zipper box - divide by two - place a small piece of masking tape so the the lowest edge of the tape is on the half way mark - measure around the hips at this point and at the back mark this line with a piece of tape.

Measure from the front upward to the little dip between the collar bones at the neck line - this is your front jacket measurement

Measure upward from the tape line at the back to the top of the knobby bone at the back of your neck - this is your back measurement.

This will work with high waisted trousers and today's standard fitting ones - remember these jackets were designed when trousers were worn high on the waist and this included work pants, jeans, etc.

Trying to match a 30's jacket with 2016 jeans / trousers only gives you a Shania Twain / Brittney Spears bare midriff look no matter how well the jacket is made.

guys with narrower waist than their hipbone look bad in high rise pants. I know I look bad in my school uniform pants in the past.
