it took a while for me to decide on my next MC jacket. I was hell bent on Aero J 106, or a DD J model. The best customer experience I've ever had was my Skookum Cascade through Scotty at Langlitz. It's also a jacket I've never regretted buying, and still love. So, I decided to go back for more.
I don't wear much black at all, so it was always going to be brown. I love the goat on my Skookum, but they had one last peice of the Super Heavy brown cow (4.5-5oz) they don't offer it any more. So I put my deposit on and they set it aside for me. I wanted it a bit retro, but definitely functional, and something that would hopefully still look cool in 10 years.
So, it's a cascade with heritage off white contrast stitch. I put elbow and shoulder pads in, the leather is too heavy to do a full padded back which was my initial intention. I joined the padding to yolk, which I think looks cleaner and pretty sharp. I added a pointier retro "togs" collar, and got the old school pocket stitch across the front. I got old school snap on stitching on snaps, and a hidden snap at base on jacket. I'm a sucker for detach fur collars, so I grabbed one too. I love brass, and It's a Langlitz signature, so I went with brass hardware, and a chunky Talon zip.one inside map pocket, no chest pocket. Pinstripes on back. I love it. The cow is gorgeous. The samples don't do it justice, same as my goat, it looked OK as sample, but stunning on jacket. This thing is lovely in the flesh, bits of grain, a beautiful sheen and smells awesome. I just love Langlitz gear, and could easily own 2-3 more. The guys are so incredibly easy to work with, great communication from Scotty, Benny and John. It's a pleasure handing over hard earned to these guys, and this, for me, is another jacket I will be hanging on to for many years to come. Zero buyers remorse. I bloody love it.

Won't let me upload any more. Anyway, it's a beautiful jacket. I'm so thrilled. Fits like a glove, and the whole experience was spot on. Thoroughly enjoyable, lots of fun, and kept learning things along the way. A big thanks to the incredible team at Langlitz.

Cheers guys. It's really nice, thought the collar was going to be much more pronounced, but hats about it. I'm really impressed with the the hide. The samples aren't the most exciting I've seen. The jacket itself in the flesh is lovely. There's already grain to be seen, and it just feels so solid. Will get some fit pics up ASAP. I went same as previous jacket, with an extra inch of length, and nipped the torso an inch and a half so it's snug fit. I'm loving the padding. I really wanted a full padded back, but the leather is too heavy for that. With the money saved from that, I got the fur collar, the rest I wasted on groceries and petrol.

Very nice Bunyip. Not trying to pry for more pics or anything, but you can google "image resizer" and use one of those to reduce to 50% of original size. Save to computer or phone and upload the smaller copy. Congrats regardless. ;)

If you are on a mac, go to tools > Adjust size and I usually re-save it at 60% of original and that works.

Back on to the actual jacket. How does the actual fit/size ordering process go for those of us a long way away? I understand Langlitz paid themselves on their custom fit. Do you supply specific jacket measurements ?

Bunyip, that's beyond awesome. Fit pics!!

I've been lucky enough to land a Langlitz jacket myself (Columbia, bought it from Nick who made me a fantastic deal I couldn't pass on, especially considering the measurements were so perfect). Now, over these few years I've been thru most major makers and I like to think that my opinion about leather jacket makers holds some merit so believe me guys when I say that Langlitz is the best. I'll be the first one to admit I wasn't terribly impressed with the photos of their jackets nor did I understand what's with all the Langlitz hype. Schott, Aero, Vanson, etc. are all great makers and while some are arguably better than the other in certain styles, I always have strongly believed that the difference in the supposed quality didn't justify the price difference. In case of Langlitz, it does. The jacket that I have is in a league of it's own. Okay, it's a pure motorcycle jacket in the truest sense of the word and it does its thing better than any other MC jacket I've handled but just from a aesthetic point, it is the closest I've seen jacket becoming a piece of art. If you're a bit on the weird side like me and like to examine your jackets, this one's it. Every detail, every part of this jacket has been so thoroughly thought out and perfected it's insane.
Sadly, the photos doesn't do these any justice. I'm serious. They look great, like the one above, but you have to see Langlitz jacket in person to understand and once you do, you'll know what I'm talking about. It's no wonder their fans are some of the most loyal around.

What Bunyip said, zero buyers remorse. I too could easily own their entire range and my next jacket is definitely going to be from them. Which one, I've no clue. Cascade, or maybe even Timberline. Some day. I understands how shilly my post may sound but I really mean it. I've got just one ancient jacket of theirs but I am in love. So yeah, there are plenty of fantastic jacket makers around but if you are to ask me to recommend one for an MC jacket, I would say Langlitz. No contest.
