Martini Slayer's very nice later model:

"Here's a pic of mine.. She's a Victrola QRS Model 15!

She was made in the late 20's.. It was a Chicago manufacturers try at makeing an affordable portable for college kids... I was told it was not very popular and it also was made in a few fashion colors..

Some of mine

A VV35, which is the successor to yours, Lauren. 1924 - 1926.

The outside is black. It's a little smaller and cost $30 new.

(My camera died in CA so this is not *mine*. This one has had the turntable recovered in incorrect green felt (should be brown)).

VV210 - 1922-1925, $100 new.

Or this, Edison Home, 1904.

It's all about the romance.

My Sears Silvertone late-model wind-up portable with some Columbia Royal Blue 78s.
(Just for show here. The reproducer is shot, and the Royal Blues are waaay too precious to play on the old groove-grinder.)

I scored about 7 old 78's at a thrift store in my area for .50 cents each!!

There's quite a few things worth downloading here.
What amazed me was all the covers are available to download too so you can make your own CD covers for the recordings

I especially enjoyed Peter & the Wolf & Alice in Wonderland.

There's loads of christmas stories just been put up too.

here is a few of my Harris

I have had this Harris Portaphone for about 15 years now.Love it to death i do!!
I don't play it very often as i have over 500 cd's of classical from the 1890 to 1940 era and would rather not take a chance on breaking the pulleys or belt on the inside of the player.Not too easy to replace don't you know!

This is a Harris Portaphone.Not sure of the date.One friend thinks it is from the 20's.Seems a bit early but...? Any ideas?? It is in delightful condition save some marks on the outside .Here it is playing a record of Mischa Elman in a Brahms Hungarian dance from 1903.I would like more 78's but they take too much space in my one bedroom apt.So,therefore,the cd collection.
Above the player in the storage is "o sole mio" by Caruso,1903.

Found this beauty at an auction in Portland in 1991. Not too bad for $50.
