Today I picked up this G Fox & Co. sport coat from the 1950s or 1960s. This coat must have been the previous owner's favorite: It is missing two buttons on one sleeve and the lining is torn on one underarm.

I am vaping with a Kangertech Subvod.

Just got this shirt from J.Crew and it was this ⇩ description that got me to buy it (and the Labor day sale that knocked its price down to $29):

Back when yarn was only spun by hand, subtle variations in the width gave clothes a naturally textured feel. We've recreated that rustic, homespun quality for this shirt, and added a striped pattern in colors that'll carry you through the rest of the season and beyond.
Most of the time, descriptions like that exaggerate, but the material on this shirt looks and feels very vintage - like it could have been worn in "A River Runs Through It" or "East of Eden." Its color - just-off-white; its feel - rough and with more heft than a dress shirt; its texture - very nubby - all add up to a wonderful vintage vibe.

Shot from the catalogue

And close-up shots so that you can get a feel for the wonderful texture

A little different than normal and from last Saturday. My reenactment group was in a parade. We portrayed the 505th PIR of the 82nd Airborne division in Normandy.

I'm on the left with my buddy on the right. I'm wearing a repro M42 jumpsuit, repro jump boots, all original web gear, and an original WW2 helmet I refurbished.

Also,the original M18 paracaisson and a mixmaster M-1 rifle. Not shown is a replica M9A1 bazooka. ;)

Since we don't have a "Show Us Your Clothes" thread, I guess I'll post these finds here: The other day I found four 1960s sport coats made by Gentree and Enson. I also found a late 60s or 70s ascot. You see me wearing the ascot with a 1970s Woolrich jacket that I got last January. I also got a pre-1915 Brooks Brothers morning coat a few months ago but I never took a picture of it until today.

1960s Gentree brown sport coat. I found a matchbook in its pocket, and a business card in another one. The matchbook is probably 70s and the business card is probably anywhere from the 60s to the 80s.

1960s Enson blue and green gray plaid sport coat. It seems to be a Summer weight jacket. I'm guessing it's probably linen or linen and Dacron.

Looking good HadleyH - looks like a nice place too! What's the temperature like? Just going on you wearing a sweater and a coat.

---

OK people, lets end this cycle. We don't get to decide who we offend - if someone takes offense, then that is that. People have the same right to feel offended as everyone else does to offend them (whatever their intention). This is a place for clothes and style, and I don't think we should be putting someone off participating in this thread by continuing going over the same point. Let's not perpetuate this. Let's all move on and get back to what we do best - celebrate clothes and have friendly, united discussion.

---

In the interests of diverting the discussion - what are people wearing day-to-day at the moment? I'm struggling between more casual lightweight jackets and trousers, but still wanting to wear my more favoured thicker winter suits. The dilemma! :)
agreed this thread is about clothes lets move on xxx

A nicely patterned green Eddie Bauer sweater I picked up for half off during a Spring clearance sale. I hadn't been able to wear it until todayx but I think I have a new favorite!
