I bought my first Jean Jack after Bob Dylan wore one in the Concert for Bangladesh. It was a Lee. I found a Western store in a small town near me that stocked Lee. I bought the first one new all the others have been from thrift stores. They showed up often. I bought Levi and Lee, the Levi showed up more often. I prefer the Lee.

Awesome jacket! Been on my wish list for a while. Sadly, the Lee jackets I see in the mall doesn't seem to be at the same level as these old ones or the versions from Japanese makers - Iron heart etc. I remember seeing a WH Ranch version on IG a year or two ago, made from super-thick material, really nice.

I like the limited edition jacket on the website that is linked. Only 50 made? That's pretty interesting. Not in the budget this year but a nice upgrade for Schott overall.

I am amazed at the Denim re-dos. I just don't know about those high end denim brands. I would certainly buy another jacket when I see one that looks like the "real" thing. I bought a couple of Storm Riders new unworn. I don't know how to date them. They are stiff. I can hardly button them. The denim market is one I stay clear of. I've got enough with Leather Jackets. I like it when it turns up locally, I won't pursue it.

Here is the size 44 Seed Corn Storm Rider. This is farmer wear where I live in Illinois. I just look like a farmer.

Nope. Looks quite like it but it's something else. It's identical to this jacket in every detail, only mine has side pockets which I thought is rare and cool.

Dinerman says Brooks which it might be of course, but I've never seen one exactly like it. It's a damn fine jacket in every way. I understand why Dinerman decided to keep it. :) https://vintagehaberdashers.com/2013/04/19/leather-cafe-racer-racing-shirt/

They had the 641 in HH.

Edit: Only in black. And sadly no 641XX, salesperson mentioned stuff along the lines of those jackets being for Japan market only, super slim, etc.

Yeah, that's what they always drone about, when asked about the 641XX but just one look at the size chart proves them wrong. EVERY SINGLE salesperson on Rakuten told me that it runs a size large and that I should size down. Even the sleeves are longer than on their 641/141.

I hear ya about the high end makers. I have my share of denim from them, but always a hard time deciding on splurging for them.

This jacket you're wearing here - awesome! I'd totally wear that, and I'm not a farmer!

@ton312 @willyto thx dudes! I had the back modified to more of a traditional chore coat. Really loved the detail of the buttoned side cinches, and I'm glad I went in this route. Tho I'll say this thing needs some serious break in to be sufficiently comfortable. Also, this dark seal Vincenca is easily the nicest hide I've handled. It's very robust and dense, but supple. The color is rich and deep (not flat). I love it

Haha, touché my man.

Here are a few more shoddy fit pics taken the other day. I plan to do a more formal review w/better pics soon. Weather is just starting to come around for me to do so:)

Wow that is nice--really like the back and side cinches as well. Perfect fit. I'm really digging the work coat style these days!
