Did anyone here checkout the new Borsalino brand store in Brooklyn? what are you thoughts? is it the same quality?

Fyi: Borsalino is currently importing the felt bodies from Russia and doing the trim work in Italy ever since it was invested by Phillip Comperio. NOT made in the same borsalino factory... :(

Where did you get this information? I know they are importing (from FEPSA) some felt bodies but not from Russia. As of January 2016 when Daniele and myself toured the factory I assumed (saw the equipment but not actual felt production) they were still producing felt in house.

Yes! your right, I'm not disagreeing that they're still producing felt in house, however when they have mass orders for religious side they are buying hat bodies eleswhere ( Im guessing somewhere from Portugu)

Borsalino "Visone" (mink) made for U.S. market and sold through the Gano-Downs Co. Department Store in Denver. Condition is mint. Era likely c.1950, but perhaps a pre-war example. The imprint of the Marca Colombo liner (was it related to the quincentenary of Columbus' birth? - 1951) is seen in handsome detail, not obscured by the usual paper crown protection. Borsalino manufacturing tags feature a separate size sticker - a notation seen in earlier hats. Stitching is finely spaced on 2" sweatband. Compare the Gano-Downs sweatband logo with this example posted by Brad from a hat he dates to 1953, and with the label in this deco era flapper coat.

High quality velour finish felt with box pleat bow (basting stitch present to secure the top of the pleats. Brim is 65mm (just over 2.5"), crown height 150mm (just under 6"). Crown is blocked quite straight.

Lucky enough to have a small size and excellent eyes
This is a period that in Italy I only see excellent hats medium and small size ... what bad luck!
The Borsalino-Colombo is magnificent. Color and shape
Good day Alan ;)
