That pic brings back memories. I really miss the pheasant and quail hunting we did while living in Nebraska and Kansas. Good times, great dogs.

The way farms are clearcut & managed today the quail are almost gone unfortunately. After being in decline for many yrs prairie chickens are on the comeback & Kansas does have a season on them.

Great learning toy, with visual instructions for several different buildings. Probably the most valuable lesson I learned was how to get the long pieces in. I remember being frustrated when they would all stick out the end and I couldn't get the lid back on. My dad showed me how to lay the can on its side, put in the long pieces then the medium length pieces and finally the shortest. Voila...all in with reeom to spare!

Mr. Seerey-Lester is a fan of hats himself & frequently has a friend sit & model for his paintings. He had to give him a beard though!
