Hunting Hitler on the History Channel

The show isn't even in orbit around "Planet Wrong".
OK, it would be interesting (probably not in this thread on Hitler) to know why it's so bad. Can you message me or direct us all to some online site that explains the show's defects? I did find this on my own:
https://www.reddit.com/r/badhistory/comments/2023pe/how_bad_is_the_history_channels_vikings/

It includes a view that it may be inaccurate in many details but gets the 'tone' right (probably not for serious reenactors or historians) and tells a good story for the unwashed rest of us.

They never seem to learn....you don't fool with Lagertha.

I also like the fact that they don't try to draw the line between real and unreal or mystical and worldly in the show. I like the fact that the gods play a role no matter how minor. I've seen that myself with some "non western" cultures like native Americans and native Australians. There is a silent "Yes, but ..." lurking in their reaction to our logical modern European/American mindset. It gives this fictional Viking universe a touch of reality (even if it's just it's own, internal, reality).

Well for all you "historians" who said this show was total BS, you'd better start getting a taste for crow. Not only have several countries INCLUDING the US givin the show all their declassified documents to solve this but the FBI has just released documents proving that they had very good reason to believe he left the day before they said he died. I think theres 130 pages of FBI files following their investigation.

In one of the episodes of Hunting Hitler they show a photograph purportedly of an elderly Hitler taken in 1961 which, instead, turned out to be that of Moe Howard of the Three Stooges taken in his later years in the 1970s.:p

The actual picture of Moe. But then again, if that is Hitler, I didn't know that he drove a '72 Cadillac. :D

It was ridicules how much money and manpower the FBI wasted on sightings of Hitler! Now if you will excuse me, I am meeting Elvis and Bigfoot for cocktails at the Melody Lane Restaurant.

The FBI under Hoover's micromanagement, especially after WWII, was obsessed with the pursuit of wild geese. No bizarre rumor was too bizarre to be investigated.

well considering the amount of Nazi's that made their way to Argentina after the war I don't understand why it so hard for a lot of you here to believe that Hitler and some others didn't. After all there is 0, none, no proof that Hitler died in that bunker. Any so called "proof" they had has long been debunked. And if you actually ARE watching this show the amount of hard evidence they have brought to light is extraordinary.

I have never seen any credible evidence that Hitler did not die in the bunker! If Eichman and Mengele could not escape detection, what chance would Hitler have?

Then clearly you have NOT been watching this. The war crimes testimonies, the Luftwaffe pilot, the encampment in the jungle, the testimony of the Catholic priests, I could go on and on here. All these countries that turned all their files over to the show hoping they could "figure the whole thing out" And my favorite where Ike himself said Hitler was somewhere in Spain or Bolivia
