Yes, I did get that one!

I don't usually have as much time to spend on the FL as I used to, so I didn't even see the ad until yesterday; glad it was still around. I'm always on the lookout for either a "tight" 7 1/4 or a slightly "loose" 7 1/8, so this was no-brainer. Sometimes luck runs with you.

Oh no! I know the rules on this! It's only tax deductible if (a) it's never worn for any other purpose and (b) it is not suitable for other purposes. (At least that's what I remember from my one tax class, as an undergraduate, way long time ago.)

OTOH, if you have an auto and put advertising on it then there is some level of deductibility.

Now comes the tricky part: How to put advertising on a hat without ruining the aesthetic. Hmmm...that puts adhesive stickers outside the realm. Something subtle on a puggaree might work, but Moon's no pugger.

Think... think... think... (to quote Winnie the Pooh)

Needs to be on the outside...a hat liner wouldn't do for maximum deductibility, although some benefit might be derived when putting your hat, crown down, where people can see it.

Pick up the hat...on the hand...face on...from the rear...from the front...left side...right side...in the mirror...around again...look but don't examine... see without looking..try another hat...borsos...strats...cheap woolies (not in Moon's collection, of course)

...and anoth..ano..a...another...

Put that Stetson, the Borsalino, and the woolie from Outdoor World on the table!

Hmmm...not face on...angle left...right...just 45 degrees...back up...turn 'em again...what's that I see? What's that change?

One more time. Slowly. Again...a little quicker... What is that change? Change catches the eye. Perfect place for advertising, like a billboard as the road bends, but more subtle.

Do it again...again...slower...hmmm? a little more...video it...send it to the lab....never mind! I see it now!

Hat pins! We all need hat pins advertising our businesses! It'll make the rest of the country help pay for our addiction! It's the American way!
