Norshor Leather NS3 Jacket Potential Alteration Question

Hello,
I recently listed my Norshor Leather NS3 jacket in the classifieds section. The jacket is amazing but added bulk from the gym changed the fit for me...the only reason I'd part with this beauty. But then, I had a brain wave. I saw a shot of Mark's Norshor Cossack Deer Skin jacket and I wondered...might it be possible to alter the bottom of the jacket by having a professional remove the knit waist bank and replace it with a leather "Cossack" like band that is a tad longer than the current knit one? Am showing shots of both for the visual.

Your thoughts most appreciated and welcome as to whether you believe this would work.
Thank you,
Steve

Can't see why not? Clever idea and good lateral thinking.
Hide matching would be the biggest issue probably...

Yikes, it might be easier to get higher rise jeans...
I'd give Steve S @ Greatest Generation a buzz. I know Mark wasn't so into the idea of a leather waistband for the NS3.
Id think there might be a bit of work with the extra leather around the waist at the knits. Also the balance might be off a bit with a wider waistband, but maybe not. Steve has repaired many A-2s and would probably have some good advice.

Such a lovely looking jacket as is! I guess it might work though, I don't know if the attached is a help. I think if you added too much legnth it would certainly look 'off'. I guess it depends on costs vs how happy you'd likely be with the results against what you would lose selling.

Looks better with the leather waistband IMHO...If you can match the hides or get really close...I'd say do it.

How about wider knits?
It might be a simpler tweak. Here are the knits I got from Goodwear to use for my NS3 (pictured with the Coventry Tea Cowhide).

They are 8" wide/ 4" when folded over for waistband. They're sitting in a box if you want them.
