It's not golden era but it's a return to movie making the way it used to be before computers and the movie has a golden-era style. Men wear suits, no matter the task at hand. Women dress up not down. Our hero drives a 1969 Mustang.

Ultra-violent? You bet. Non-stop, mind blowing action? Most certainly. Puppy deaths? Zero. If you liked the first movie, then you'll love this one. If you did not, then pass on JW2. If you didn't see the first one, ask a trusted friend with your sensibilities who has and if he or she gives the thumbs up then see the first movie before you go to JW2 - it will help with the storyline, what little there is.

JW2 is one of the few sequels that equals or surpasses the original. And it's all about style ...... and "gun-fu."

Excited to hear such a positive review. I don 't think the first one had a cinema release in the UK, or if it did I missed it. I stumbled across it on a plane to Beijing a year or two ago, and enjoyed it very much. Looking forward to the sequel.

I too first heard about these Wick films with the current sequal release; I had never heard of the original. It is on Canadian Netflix so I will check out the first shortly I hope...

Thanks for the review man! I thought JW was the best "shoot 'em up" I'd seen in ages!

"It was just a fu...... Bang!"

Great fun! Look forward to the sequel.

Did the studio do little to no advertising for the first film? I know the name of the film and the star but nothing else! I'm glad to hear the first film is a good action flick. American made action films are too few and far in between. We'll definitely give the first one a look.

Far more money was spent on the dismal "Jack Reacher". "John Wick" came and went in a flash in the movies but word of mouth, rentals and foreign sales made the sequel a "no brainer" for brain dead Hollywood.
