You've got skills, clearly. That looks scrumptious! Very nice indeed.
Thanks, FedOregon! The Akubra Rough Rider comes with a huge, pre-shaped brim. Ironed it flat, measured it to about 3.2", cut it down, then spent quite a while with the steam kettle getting the brim curl and dip just right. I'd already found the correct basket-weave band at the local western-wear store (also on eBay). It's a nice light (color and weight) hat.

When I see you I wish I had the courage to begin wearing hats when I was your age.

Yes T Rexes used to roam the Earth then

Thanks! I began wearing fedoras at 18... they were mostly wool and didn't survive the elements. Thirteen years later, I'm still happily obsessed =)

Your panama and guayabera combo is tops, today, sir!

Nice. It's odd taking selfies, at least for me... and there's a process to go through in order to get good pics. I'm still a work in progress and you look fine!

We shared the basic selfie secret just yesterday, and today @Dnewma04 gets called out for his tip top technique. It WORKS!!! Shoot from as high an angle as you are able, Doug.

Now I can't wait to see your WHAYWT photo post tomorrow!

Does anyone else enjoy their garden, this rhododendron bush always flowers early, but it's so welcoming and cheery. Furthermore we have a pair of bluetits raising a family in it this year. They are a noisy lot our avian new neighbours.

There are so many hat threads, but as this is the most popular, I must let you in on my new hat. It's a cream straw with a chocolate hatband, and it's still at the construction stage. The best part though, was being given a choice of colour for the hat. I wasn't quite sure what kashmir velour looked like, so my milliner sent me a picture of her model wearing a hat in kashmir velour, what do you guys think of it?
