That's one response I got when I posted this same topic in the "Outer Wear" forum.

Should I have doubts?

If they are all cotton Ace, some material shinkage is to be expected. I wouldn't use that as my reason not to buy, especially at what seems to be a friendly pricepoint.

The point of the K-1 has been bastardized into something that I'm guessing Levi's considers more. Aside from the cloth, the fit and details are nothing like a WWII khaki.

They may not have the details correct, but the cotton is nice and online they can be ordered with a long rise.

Buzz Rickson is always Dead on when it comes to a repro.

Ralph Lauren does a good job yet the cotton is often off when compared to originals, and the company always does crazy distressing when they do decide to make them to spec.

At The Front Khaki Pants

I just got a pair of ATF pants and they are very good. Almost identical to my WWII originals (1945 dated). Same high rise and cloth weight very similar.
I think they are a good buy and I intend to pick up a few more.

Hi

ATF's are button fly right? They don't show a picture of that, even though they do for every other pant that they sell.

I have a pair of Khaki's from What Price Glory (WPG) and one of the belt loops unraveled. I'm 49 and I've never seen that one before. WPG is a lot less expensive, but since they're in UAE now, their shipping is a lot more.

Yes, they're button fly, 1961MJS. If you're used to zippers, they take some getting used to.

I was a fan of Bill's khaki's, but all three pairs wore out within 6-8 months. As recommended, I let them drip dry too. It may have been the fault of my washing machine, or maybe that's how long khaki's are supposed to last. I guess I'm spoiled by Tilley's Endurables; those pants last 6-8 years.

I think with my ATF khaki's, I may dry clean them only, maybe they'll last longer.

Thanks, I'll be o.k., I have two pair of the 1941 HBT pants. No cargo pocket, but regular 5 pocket jobs. I'll probably get a couple of pair of the Khaki's for father's day.

have a set from Soldier of Fortune which I really like. My wife copied them but the materiel is more desert yellow than Kakhi. I may get a pair made in stone.

What i would like is some Moleskin ones in kakhi, stone or light brown based on Australian stockmans trousers

Hi all,

I've just had a pair of Eastman Leather Officer pinks hemmed and I also took along a pair of BR 1942 khakis but the seamstress that told me that she did not have thread of the same gauge for the khakis, and it's hard to get hold of.

Anyone know where I could get hold of some thread of the correct gauge and colour please?

I'd really like to get the BR khakis hemmed as the ELC pinks are far too heavy and warm to wear much at all in the summer!

BTW, do the BR khakis shrink much? Should I leave an extra inch or two of length to provide for shrinking?

Cheers all

I have a pair from WPG and have had NO PROBLEMS at all! You can thank the dingbats running Kalifornia for all the taxes for Jerry going to UAE!

This is an old thread, but I need a new recommendation for WWII army khaki trousers. I am willing to spend up for quality. Are the WWII Impressions khakis the best new reproduction? ATF stopped carrying them so far as I can tell.

I had some luck with SM Wholesale even though the buttons needed resewing. Curious what others think as well.

Who are the top 2-3 makers these days?
