Looking to buy a Summer/Straw hat. Prefer true vintage hats, or vintage dimensions. Not interested in tiny trillby brim profiles or heavy crown taper. I wear a 7 1/8, but can fit a
7 1/4.

For a straw in a vintage style you might take a look at Peters Bros. custom hemps. They're very accommodating when it comes to styles. crown heights, brims, etc. I have three Stratoliner-style hemps, all in different colors. Art Fawcett's Milans can also be made in a fedora style, and he's a great guy to work with. Come to think of it, you also might want to check out Tom Gomez's Etsy shop: I believe he had a few beautiful ones in your size the last time I looked. Good luck.

The Stetsonian panama seems to have vintage dimensions. A bit expensive, but the only one I know of with a full crown.

The Tesi Montecristis all have unusually tall crowns.
Ask the folks at Bencraft for the exact dimensions.
The Fedora Lounge mavens here say that Tesi made Borsalino's panamas for them a few years ago.
Having compared my Tesi with a Borsalino, then, I would be inclined to agree that this was likely true.
