Is the Vintage Trends site still working?

I've bought from them before. I bought a Schott leather jacket from them a couple of weeks ago and although the order went through I got no confirmation of the postage or purchase. I have emailed them 4 times without response. I have not been able to set up an account, despite lodging my details twice. Just hoping the site hasn't gone under, taking my money. I'm wondering how long I should wait before lodging something with PayPal.

No idea re the site sorry but lodge early imo. You can always retract it if they get in touch with you. Leave it too long and you risk missing out.

I found another email address for them and have sent a further email to check what's happening. Hopefully all ok.

Agree with the above. Looks a bit of a sketchy site that too, if we are talking about vintagetrends.com - half finsihed website, no contact details or address listed. Not a site I think I'd buy from, though I guess if you've used them before they must be legitimate at some level. Certanly looks a small/limited concern either way so could be something simple.

You didn't say how long ago you bought the jacket but if its a week or more with no contact or response then I'd try to get your money back but drop them an email as well explaining things and why you have started a claim.

Thanks Prote. I've raised it via PayPal, we'll see. I got a great jacket from them a couple of years ago.

I have dealt with them before. In the web site I'm familiar with, there is contact info. I have used the email contact with prompt reply.

Doesn't look good at this point, Seb.

There is an email link on the site, but what I meant was there is no physical contact infomation, no company details/name listed, no address, phone number, none of that.

The shipping page isn't eactly confidence inspiring...

Maybe the site was thrown together in a rush to list everything. Who knows. Hope things work out.

I went to the Vintage Trends site, and it appears to be different from the one I used to deal with. On this site they have no peacoats listed, saying, "There are no products posted to this category yet." I thought that odd, so I sent them a message asking what is going on. I got a notice from the site saying the message could not be sent and to contact the site administrator. Most odd.

I was naive to assume that because it worked for me a few years back all was still well. Should have checked it out more thoroughly. Oh well, if it does go wrong I've only lost a modest amount of money and can chalk it up to one of life's lessons. This will be the first time in a decade of buying over the internet that it hasn't worked out.

How disappointing! I bought a peacoat from these guys back in late 2015 after I read about them here. All went very smoothly with that transaction and I used to check back from time to time to see if they had anything new that struck my fancy. I'm sorry to hear about your bad experience Seb and I hope that PayPal will come through with a refund.

UPDATE - hi all, after no contact at all by Vintage Trends - the product never arrived and absolutely no communication was provided - I got a full PayPal refund.

If I hadn't successfully bought from them a few years ago, I would have been more cautious.

The lesson in bloody obviousness for the week is: you can't take anything for granted on the Internet.

And they've been around forever. Glad you got it settled.

Glad PayPal worked out for you. I think the site you worked with is different from the previous site. Graphics aren't the same and other things are different as well.

@Seb,
I'm glad you got your money back!
But, that's a real shame about Vintage Trends. It used to be a great store/website, and even though their prices were always at the upper end, they weren't overpriced. I've bought a G-1 and an M-65 from them, great value for my size.
But after I saw this thread, I checked out their site. What a mess. Everything's disorganized and overpriced. In fact, when I looked last week, every single item was just priced $1000!
Used 3rd pattern US ripstop shirts?
$1000!
Motorcycle jacket?
$1000!

I guess the whole business was sold to some hipster who really thinks he knows 'the true value' of vintage?

Try Rockit Vintage in the U.K. They have a good website. I got an N-3b parka from them a couple of years ago.

No idea - but the leather jacket I "bought" was only $175 US for a very good condition 1970's Schott. Looks like they have changed the prices since I was caught out there a few weeks back. They had about 6 jackets costing $1000, the rest were all decently priced. Or so I thought....
