I have an amazing Gordon & Ferguson Field & Stream half-belt dating from early 1940's
The jacket is in superb condition, with only minor wear to the liner and all hard wear in perfect working order.
The horse hide leather in in fantastic condition, showing little wear and is supple and thick with no issues what so ever.
Original 'sun burst' Talon zipper is in perfect working order, and the chest pocket zip is of a style I have never seen on any other jacket.
The jacket has a beautiful pleated half belt back, with side cinch adjusters and a button strap cuff.
G&F were a superb jacket manufacturer with quality components and construction, making jacket for Abercrombie & Fitch (check out how similar the label is) and having large USN contracts for the M-422a jackets and smaller AN-J-3a contract.
Size is perfct for a 38-40 depending on desired fit
