Ok I can't for the life of me figure out how to undo my "private" setting on the album, so I posted the images separately.
This is a late 40's or early 50's Stetson Whippet in chocolate brown. Photos taken in full sun, so a bit of the burgundy shows, but in person, this is a very dark brown hat. Size is 7 3/8. This is the original box. No stains or moth damage. The hat is pretty close to "NOS" but not quite (new old stock) and it clearly shows it was not worn much. I have many hats and this fits nice, but it's brown and I have a preference for lighter colors. PM me if you are interested in making a fair offer.

It wasn't too many months ago a rather medicore Whippet went for around $800 on ebay. Good luck in your search.
A hat in better shape than the above-referenced Whippet (Royal Stetson, Knox, Dobbs, Champ etc), from the 50's can be had for around $125 - $250.
