Some bad storms last night on the way home from work. The Fed IV took it in stride. Im liking this hat more and more. I was wishing I had a wind trolly at times as the gusts were quite strong. I think my pomade help hold my hair and the hat in place.

In my experience Akubra's wind trolleys aren't worth the effort. When I received my Silverbelly Campdraft, it being the first hat I ever owned with a wind trolley, I thought I'd check it just to see if it would actually keep the hat from blowing out of reach. After a few relatively light tugs, it came off in my hand. o_O And a few months after I received my Taupe Fawn Campdraft I noticed the wind trolley had loosened quite a bit, but when I tried to "snug" it to the crown it snapped where it was wrapped around the wire loop on the back of the button.

Akubras do respond favorably to rain though. I've worn a couple of mine in rain strong enough to pool on the brim and run off the front when I leaned forward, and after the hats dried the felts were a bit softer. No idea how well they'll hold up against pomade though. ;)
