The price is actually a bargain for what some lucky buyer will receive. It's somewhat similar to my GW/Himel Ventura, although my size 44 GW/Himel ventura prpbably is a better fit for me with 27.5" sleeves. The GW Hercules is doubless a better cold weather jacket though. I never tire of looking at John's website.

I would guess that is his first Hecules. love that Label!

This is JC's early rendition of the Iconic Sears Hercules. The Imperial was inspired by a member here. He has only made a handful. I'm very fortunate to own one.

This is as nice a leather Jacket as I've ever handled. Incredible finish.

I love John’s work (no secret, I have 5) but the one thing I preferred on his Imperial and on all HB’s is that the adjusters lined up with the back ‘belt’ strip. Not particularly a fan of the lower placing. That said, if someone magically gifted it to me I’d keep it.

I think this jacket is seriously underpriced since you can get it straight away, and not have to wait two years! John's missing a trick!

In all seriousness, since GW jackets are supposed to be 'all that', how is it that someone spent around $1800 for a made to measure jacket, waited around 2 years for it, and then decided that they didn't like it?

(gasp!) What went wrong?

We get it you don’t like Goodwear because they’re expensive and you don’t see any tangible reason for the added cost. Try to relax though, there could be any number of reasons why it’s for sale, and as long as it’s not your money the added costs associated with a Goodwear jacket aren’t really your problem.

I have always said JC is a nice guy and he makes nice jackets. Go back and check my posts.
I didn't say that I see no tangible reason for the cost of this jacket at all! That's a total fiction conjured by you!
I said the exact opposite; this jacket in under-priced since it is available with no wait.

I have always said that I don't like the hype around the GW brand. I have always said that I don't like the cultish attitude around the GW brand (and it IS cultish because people are expected to just believe they are the best jackets without asking questions. If you ask questions, you will be attacked. Thank you for proving my point Woodyear).

Yes, I don't like (hate even) that.
But I have never said that I don't like GW because they are expensive and have a long wait time. I have said that's why I wouldn't buy one, but it's not the same thing now, is it.

@Butte, I'm not really sure why my conversation with Woodyear is causing you so much grief, but since you're here, I wanted to ask you if you bought that B-15c from DD?

You're a size 48, and the jacket is a size 46, so usually, you'd be like this when someone told you to try a smaller size, and ship it back when it doesn't fit;

But on the other hand, it's a DD jacket, so serious cult points up for grabs, surely? I mean, DD's size 46 couldn't possibly be so inaccurate that it could be a perfect fit for a size 48 guy, could it?
