From what I have seen and held some of the vicenza leather has an almost embossed look while other batches do not. Any observations on this?

This is my vague understanding and I'm sure others will have more precise answers to your q.
Vicenza leathers seem to come in a variety of grains, from slightly pebbled to somewhat smooth. As I dimly recall, the initial batches received by Aero were of the smoother variety and the latter batches were more pebbled. When ordering you have the option of specifying which type of grain you'd like, however, try as they may there is no guarantee that Aero will be able to accommodate your preference, simply because they can only use what they have received and/or expect to receive.

My jacket made out of black Vicenza that I got a few months back has a pebbled look that I like a lot. I didn’t specify anything though so if you want a smoother finish you might have to explicitly request it when ordering.

I couldn't have said it any better. Both my Vicenza Sheenes are smooth in texture, especially my russet vicenza but think I would have been OK with either smooth or pebbled. It all relates to specific batches and variation in tanning. IMO the main attraction of Vicenza is the soft hand it exhibits and the way that Vicenza jackets drape. It's all good!

My three Vicenzas have gotten increasingly pebblier. But one was blue, the other olive, so no one pays attention to the grain on those ones anyway. 
that sounds like those fakey method in breaking in leather jacket...
