That buckle is so YOU, navetsea!

And I mean that in the best way - it's representative of your distinctive style and taste.

View attachment 104622 I actually prefer it without. You could try a piece like this instead:

I like the look of the buckle so I'll see how that goes first, if not then this is certainly a contender.

I do like that but a tad too modern unfortunately, although it'd add a twist to the jacket! ;-)

If I could get one of those, but min purchase is 1000, I'd have 999 spares :p

Nothing much to report really, so I'll throw up a pic...

Wow man. I don't even know what to say. You slayed this project and the end result is just beyond beautiful. Good God. I'd have sewn my arm to my ass. You made something you could probably make $900 off of or just wear it and be the coolest MF on the planet. My hat is tipped to you sir.

Cheers man :) I'm gonna try be the worlds coolest MF, hah.

Well, for now until I sort out a buckle the jacket is otherwise complete :) :) Gave it a clean and conditioning this morn, really perked it up and gave it a beautiful sheen. Between the smell of the old leather and the aroma of the conditioner its almost intoxicating!! :)

Some before and afters....

Greetings SpitfireIV: Man i really don’t know s**t about fine leather but i learned what a boatload of cool is from your endeavor!! Not kidding that’s some way cool mods. And to think, you did it all yourself man. That’s something to be total proud of. Don’t EVER lay that sucker down and don’t EVEN think of selling it, no way!! You’ll regret it every day if you do either. Man, kudos!! Great job!! Love it!!
Be well. Bowen

This jacket is truly a piece of art! Kudos to you, Spit! IMHO, the lack of buckle at the front doesn't detract from the jacket at all. As you said, those were cyclists jackets, with a boatload of variations, so there is really no right or wrong way to do it.

Now you just need to go to Duxford and take a picture in front of one of the Buchon

Have to say you have done a fantastic job there, really a top job.
I’m not sure for certain if have what your looking for but I will have a look around the factory on Monday and see if we might have a buckle that could fit the bill. We would be happy to send you one.

It DOES need a buckle at the bottom of the zipper, because that zipper doesn't come all the to the bottom of the hem, and you have those side adjuster tabs that would pull the bottom of the front opening apart - which would not only look bad, but put focused strain on the bottoms of the zipper sides where they are sewed in.
