I actually figured it might've been that but that's some really poor attempt at trolling. I mean, all the idiotic OP could have produced would be a thread filled with useful info. Heck, I learned of a company I didn't know about thanks to it! If it was a troll post, it was made by a really, really dumb person. Which would explain it as only a completely dull individual would find humor in doing something like that.

I read it as a marketing attempt (albeit a very, very poor one) because the second poster named several dubious jacket manufacturers and linked to a website where these masterpieces could be purchased for a great price. I had never heard of any of these brands, nor did I click the link.
I agree with Monitor that after the opening gambit it was turning into a typical biker jacket thread where Vanson, Langlitz, Lost Worlds, etc. were emerging as the crowd favorites.

I copy pasted the link on my browser, and it is just one of those leather costume jackets, now it makes sense when in the what jacket you wear today thread they talked about how cool a jacket worn by a video game character...probably in the link that costume would also be available, most likely one entity puppet playing two user names.

Yes, it seems it was either two posters, or one who had registered two accounts, trying to push their link on here. A lot of us didn't spot that and treated it as a real post. Kinda funny to think it backfired like that.

Agreed. I was suspicious enough to follow the link "Kathy" had posted. There were a whole bunch of leather jackets offered for sale at low prices. That raised my suspicions even further. I contacted the company and found out the jackets were made in Pakistan. At first I was told they were made in Italy. Then I was told the company was based in Texas. Then I was told I could only communicate with them by email (had been using the chat feature on the website). I guess the person I was communicating with knew I was on to them. Wasn't going to waste time sending them an email, and mentally filed it away as a scam of some sort to be reported later if anything else developed. I never saw the posts others mentioned about two "members" posting and then liking each others' posts. When I came back this morning it was all gone. I knew then my suspicions were probably correct. Then I saw this thread, and that confirmed it.

I wonder if you didn't inadvertently choose to ignore the "what are you wearing today" thread. I know it is possible to ignore posts by individual members, not sure if it is possible to an ignore an entire thread...

I did use a few of these *** when I posted in the WJAYWT thread right before it disappeared. Maybe that got me blocked. It wasn't for language. Just for an aside.
