Vintage bottles of British Sterling, and English Leather from ebay.
The British Sterling IS different from the newer release from Dana.
Also, the English Leather IS stronger and has a greater longevity than the $7 dollar version from Dana as well.
British Sterling was $45 with shipping, while the English Leather was $59 but it was an 8 oz bottle, with the original wood box of all things.
My wife asked "how do people still have the vintage colognes and how do they still retain their scent?"
Oh I don't attempt to solve every mystery of the universe, it's just not worth my time.

Has anyone of you ever tried Fossil 1954? I love it, since it's as much a fragrance of vintage style, as the firm Fossil is itself. If I should ever drive a 1955 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith, that's the perfume to go!

Hermès is an overwhelmingly expensive firm. What I do like about them is their perfumes. Voyage d'Hermès for the lady, Terre d'Hermès for the gent.
Excellent, but even more expensive is the Hermessence collection.

I have only worn Amber essential oil for last dozen years... extracted from fossilized resin... primarily from Eden Botanicals an Americcan company.
Dad wore Old Spice..
I went through many phases...English Leather, British Sterling. Pino Silvestri, Agua di Silva, Canoe, Jean Nate, Patchouli Musk, vanilla, sandalwood... Mennen...Zizanie, Halston paco Rabanne... even Brut (cause Joe Namath wore it)...!!!

I just don't like when someone's fragrance announces their arrival seemingly minutes before they get there...

Nope. A real pity. I though, these Star Trek/Star Wars-perfumes would smell at least nice and okay, but forget it! Smelled really really cheap low-end, to me.

Yesterday, I was in department-store and just for fun, I sprayed myself with old-fashion Paco Rabanne "Pour Homme", because I never tried it, before! And what should I say, I was astonished!
Classic green, tonkabean/cumarin-loaded Fougère, WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!
Maybe or surely reformulated in its last 45 years, but could THIS really be one the last outstanding dinosaurs? Could this classic really convert to me to a perfume-junky, again?

I bought Ferrari "Black", today, spontaneous. It was in perfumery's sale-box, together with some other stuff and I got first Ferrari "Red" in my hands, but changed to "Black"after some moments. I thought, why not give it a try? Come on, grab it, pay the ridiculous 7,50 EUR and see, whats happen.
And at the first try, I would say, it's not bad for a "car-perfume". Surely nothing special, but definitely NOT the total synthetic low-end-stuff!
From the beginning on, I smell mostly the jasmine, cinnamon, musk and seemingly vanilla and the cedarwood, but anyhow all tightly woven.
I wouldn't say, that it's identical to Boss "Bottled".
But this cute, grippy, and very handy flakon of Ferrari "Black" is nice, too!

Scuderia Ferrari "Black", today.
I still like this licorice but stimulating headnote with citrus and plum, although the sillage is just very weak. The drydown is still totally unspectacular, woody.

Oh man, I'm looking forward to autumn, when my "Paco" (Rabanne "Pour Homme") will come to it's full power, again!
Just love the stuff. And will probably buy again.
Equally, how much reformulations happened to it, this Fougère is one of the most remarkable classics on affordable massmarket, for my taste!!

Besame 1940 is my favorite. They don't make perfume anymore, but it had such a nice vanilla scent. I have one bottle left and I'm saving it. I wore it on my wedding day and whenever I open it up, it reminds me of that day.

I like Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet along with Trafalgar and 1805 by Truefitt & Hill, and occasionally Geir by Geir Ness.I've worn, and loved, Penhaligon's mens scents for 25 years or so, starting with Eau de Portugal, which was renamed (badly IMO) to Lords, but is now known as Douro. I now alternate between Douro, their fairly new Endymion, and the classic Hammam Bouquet (Penhaligon's first ever scent, dating from 1872).
