This is a copy of my Uncle’s Bronze Star letter he recieved in Iwo Jima. I’m displaying it in an old Underwood typewriter in my office.

This is a portion of my book shelf in my reading room. I am obsessed with reading and King and Country metal toy soldiers. I have blended the two in my book shelf.

This is a WWII foot locker in my reading room. It is a mix of stuff from WWII and WWI.

Denix replica M1 Garande.

This is a Denix MP40. I didn’t want to display Nazi items so I found the French Resistance arm band on eBay. Now the whole display is French.

This is my uniform from the Navy in the early nineties. I added an SP arm band and hung up some early WWII replica items to give it that historical look. And yes I did have “Liberty Cuffs” while I was enlisted. I wish the were silk though, mine wher patches.

Russian MDL "Panama" hat in Kukla pattern (Russian copy of British DPM). Based on photographic evidence Kukla appears to be worn mainly by Rosgvardiya (National Guard of Russia), formerly Internal Troops of the Ministry of Interior (MVD). Rosgvardiya also includes OMON (riot police) and SOBR (Russian equivalent of SWAT).

You have the full set: the presentation box, the medal, the ribbon bar and the lapel pin. Some of these had serial numbers, but I guess you have already checked for that. The serial number would be on the rear of the medal itself. That's probably where the initials are. If the recipient had been killed, often the government would engrave the recipient's name on the rear of the medal and send it to the family.

The initials were written in green ink on the inside lid of the case.

Now that is interesting. I assume you mean the inside of the presentation case, on the lid? Never heard of that being done before. Most unusual.
