New Vanson Commando Aloha

It seems that most of my pending jacket orders are being delivered this week.

Yesterday arrived my new Vanson Commando made with X150 leather. The jacket is size XL but it fits more like a 2XL or size 48. (Vanson’s manufacturing data sheet reads size 5XL but the tag inside says XL - go figure!)

I was little anxious to find out if this jacket will fit me, because I learned after purchase that the shop selling these doesn’t do refunds (if I would have returned the jacket they would have given me store credit).

To my relief, it seems to fit quite nicely. As a bonus, my dog also seems to like it.

Man the front of the jacket is sublime. Vanson does a great job with the lapels and the D pocket. The back though. That's the real payoff. Love that back design, especially the kidney panel.

Only thing I would change in fit of this jacket are sleeves. They are very narrow. Its quite hard to bend my arms as the sleeves are so tight around my elbow and forearm. Time will show if this will get better when the jacket gets a little use.

It does get better. I had a Vanson Derby jacket made from the same z150 and yes the sleeves are super trim. Within a few months of wear they'll ease up a bit. But yeah those first few days especially, hurts to bend your arms.

The Butterscotch version of the Commando— I believe, other than the lining, that the main difference between this and the original is a wider waist/belly—- a bit more forgiving. Great jacket

Does get better, much better. Second skin better.

Fit is perfect. The liner is not my cup of tea. Aloha and Vanson Leather together make an oxymoron.

I believe Butterscotch also sells the Commando in a supple out of the box leather. Not sure if Firenze or something else.

@Jejupe - any update on how this X150 leather has broken in over the year or so of ownership? Pictures please?

Unfortunately I put on some weight after receiving that jacket and I haven't been wearing it because its too tight for me at the moment. So its looking new and hanging in my "I'll wear these when I lose 20 pounds" rack.
