That's Lilyan Tashman at center stage, looking none too happy about it, in "So This Is Paris." Patsy Ruth Miller cavorts at right.

Tashman was on her way to a big career in talkies -- she was a hit as a bitchy chorine in "Gold Diggers of Broadway" -- but she fell ill in 1932 with what was probably uterine cancer, and died in 1934.

Here she is as the dainty gal at the window in one of the few surviving bits from "Gold Diggers of Broadway."

I dearly love this number, especially for the gal at the far left of the chorus, who can never keep in step with anybody else. Hey, it's a living.

Can you name this singer who tip-toed as Tiny Tim in late ‘60s?
Name of the popular TV show where he was married?
Gold star if you know what he called his bride ?

How many can you name? Name of movie? Director?
I managed to get six which I recognize from other films.
The rest I'm not familiar.
Silver star if you can name at least six!
Gold for more than six.;)

From left, Walter Slezak, Mary Anderson, Hume Cronyn, Tallulah Bankhead, John Hodiak, Henry Hull, Heather Angel, William Bendix, and Canada Lee, all waiting for their destiny in Hitchcock's "Lifeboat."

This was a high-powered cast weighed heavily with stage talent -- only Slezak, Anderson, Hodiak, and Bendix were primarily Hollywood figures. Hull was best known at the time for his long-running role as Jeeter Lester in the original Broadway run of "Tobacco Road," Cronyn was in the early phase of a long career as a stage character actor, Bankhead, of course, was Bankhead, and Lee -- a militant civil rights activist --was perhaps the most prominent serious African-American actor on the stage in the 1930s and 40s.

Lee is also the most tragic figure in this cast: his career was destroyed by the postwar redbaiters, and just as he was preparing to denounce the HUAC he died of kidney failure, robbing the theatre -- and America -- of a figure who would have accomplished great things in the years to come.

Hint:
The remake ten years later is 1000 percent better!
(IMO)
I'm guessing it was one of the early versions of The Maltese Falcon, perhaps Satan Met a Lady, so the characters should be Joel Cairo, Sam Spade, Wilmar the gunsel, and Caspar Gutman. The actor third from the left is, I think Dwight ("Renfield") Frye.

The fellow playing Spade had a Hispanic name, I think. He looks something like the way Hammett described Spade.

From Warner Bros.
The Maltese Falcon 1931 with Ricardo Cortez as Sam Spade.
W.B. owned the screen rights to the Dashiell
Hammett novel “The Maltese Falcon” and
decided to film another version of the book entitled, “Satan Met a Lady “ (1936) starring Bette
Davis.

I know the movie, but I don't know her name so I won't ruin it for somebody who does know both.

That's a nice gesture.
The only reason I know it is because of the
Thread,"Babes on Bikes" where she is riding a bike and was labeled "Sophia Loren" but found out it was someone else.
