The only clones I have shot were Ruger Vaqueros and Blackhawks, but the Bisley grip fits my hand better. A slightly longer grip lets me get all three fingers on the grip. I have a large paw so if your hand is normal sized it might be different.

Still shooting my K 22 and K 38. I have had both for 50 years now and will someday pass them on to son or grandson.
I just got the bug and have parts coming in over the next week or so to build a Ruger 10/22 in M 1 carbine form. I got the stock in yesterday via ebay and hit the wood lottery with a nice piece of walnut with some crotch grain and flame grain in the buttstock .

10/22s are so much fun! I have 3 of them. 1 for silhouette shooting, 1 for Apple Seed Project, which I have yet to attend. And 1 take down, that fits in my day pack. I would like to see yours when you finish it.

I currently have three, one a Mannlicher stocked model, the other a rather deluxe stainless model I built up over the years, fancy Fajen stock, 24" Green mountain barrel, the last a stainless model with a underfold stock that will fit in a small space. All three have Kidd triggers in TI CNC milled trigger housings.

Parts are starting to drift in. Got the barrel front sight and a flash hider in today. Mail carrier goofed and failed to drop off the M1 Garand sight I plan on using. I called the post office and they said she had just gotten back and was going to make another run out tonight to delivere it. I told them to wait until tomorrow, as it would be almost an extra 20 mile round trip for her, plus the time. A special sight base for the sight just shipped today so cannot do anything with the sight until it arrives. I suspect the receiver will not ship until early next week, I finally got an e mail from the dealer saying he had some family issues, plus this is a long holiday weekend for some,

I have always loved the mannlicher stock. Still kicking myself for passing on a grey mannlicher stock with stainless barrel and receiver.

No, the real appeal of the Mannlicher is the butter smooth action. However much I admire CZ's various Mausers, none of them can compare with the old Mannlicher. Of course, it wasn't as strong and it made using a scope a PITA. But it felt so good . . .

Smooth without a doubt, much like the old Krag rifles. The last Krag I saw at a gunshow looked rather perfect and a price almost too good. It felt like a slight crack in the receiver, the dealer said it was not but I passed on it. I would love one of the full stocked small caliber Mannlicher rifles in good condition, but they are rarely seen in this part of the country.

The little CZ 527 actions I have seen are rather rough out of the box, but smooth up nicely with a little work and polishing. The other downside is that magazine that hangs down. I am thinking about sending the bottom metal and a couple of magazines off to have them converted from 5 shot to 2 shot. It makes a nicer looking rifle and easier to carry. The guy that does the conversion does not do blueing and refinished the bottom metal via cerakote or some other spray on type finish and I would rather keep it blued to really match the rest of the rifle.

Went to a small local gunshow and made a trade. I came home with a semi custom Mauser sporter in 7x57. It has an E R Shaw barrel, a fancy piece of black walnut with rosewood fore end and pistol grip tips. Two probably minor problems. The trigger pull is not what I like , an old military two stage, 3 lbs in both stages, so will probably put a Timney in it and get it down to a
2 - 2 1/2 lb pull. Second is the scope mount already installed, a full bridge pictnanny rail which just does not fit the style. I am thinking of two piece bases and QD rings so I can remove the scope when cleaning the rifle. I don't like that bridge type rail as it hinders access for loading and I will probably shoot single shot a lot off a bench so would like to keep that area open. Those changes should not cost too much.

I traded in a Post 63 Winchester M70 featherweight 30-06 I have had for years, a push feed model. I never cared that much for it and liked the looks and feel of this Mauser when I first saw and handled it. I have a Ruger 1a single shot in 7x57 and know how mild it is, and this larger, heavier rifle will be even better on my old shoulder.

I have already got it off to the gunsmith and should have it back after these changes in a couple of weeks.

I got it to the 'smith. He pulled the rail off and we discovered it was built on a 1933 Mexican Mauser action. He is ordering and installing a Timney featherweight trigger, and the hole spacing that was d/t'd for the rail looks standard and measured good for a two piece mount. I was debating Talley or Warne qd mounts, and decided to go with the Warne as I have used quite a few of them, starting on one of my big CZ Rifles. I found a deal on a Leupold VX3i 3.5-10 40mm scope and have one in the mail. If all goes well should have everything back in a bit under two weeks.

Great pistol. The trigger on the 2.0 is better than the first gen models. I picked one several months ago and it shoots like a dream. I am currently waiting to test out the 3.6 compact that they just released. We are also testing the 2.o full size as a replacement service pistol.
