I've always said that the best way to break in a leather jacket is to sit in the sun sweating in it for a couple hours!
Leather absorbs moisture from the inside much better than from the outside, and few things create more moisture than wearing leather in summer...

That "strange thing" is very intriguing. Not one of their usual models.

The collar is what I really love on this one, although it also has 3 side straps:

I actually have a Connolly Highwayman I'm about to list in the Classifieds in a size 46 (fits like a 44). Excellent condition and recently conditioned with Connolly hide food.

There's official Connolly Hide Care available in stores like Amazon. It shouldn't be difficult to find.

I got some for my vintage shoes a while ago to alternate with Bick4. For leather jackets I've been using Elephant Leather Preserver though with very good results, amazing in fact.

I may be wrong - I don't think this is Connelly but rather, Alaskan steerhide. Because I've seen one of those Alaskan steer jackets that had the exact same kind of wear. It's just honest, hard use, I guess. The jacket was probably worn on a motorcycle for decades, by the looks of it.

So I actually went to check it out, the hair panels are made of pony and the jacket was too small for me to try. Unfortunately, they have run out of pony hair and no specific plan or timing for getting more. I think I would actually wear something like this... it's making my choice of a grizzly more complicated.
