Charles Knox 40, one of very few slim brims in my collection.

The felt on this one looks really nice.

You can rock these! What is the relationship between Charles Knox and the other Knox hats?

AFAIK, it's an offshoot or just another HATCO product, but it's got a great Cavanagh edge and a sweat that has the slits with silk ribbon that comes together at the bow in the back
I think there is a post in one thread or another that says that they changed the name from Knox to Charles Knox sometime around the mid-60s. As far as I know there was no change in ownership, so most likely just a marketing thing.

Thanks man. Nice.

It's a very cool hat, although it looks like it sat near a window as the ribbon is faded out so much. But the felt is nice and I'm a Cavanagh Edge-lovin' fool... and even though I don't know the proper name for it, the sweat treatment with the slits in the back and the little bow and all, yeah, that - to me - is the epitome of class and cool for a sweat band.

This mystery Cavanagh arrived a few days ago. The seller’s photos were so low quality I had no clue what the hat would turnout to be. As a surprise, it is velour; I had no idea from the photos or the brief description. The felt is...unremarkable. It isn’t bad, it also isn’t nice. It’s otherwise typical of of its breed. If it weren’t for the cheap gold hat band connector I’d keep it. As it is, that gold is a deal breaker and I’m not interested in putting any time or money into the hat. Hit me up if your interested (cheap).

Velour is cool, but I kind of agree with you on that hat band. Maybe replace it? It has a real 70s vibe right now. Probably toward the end of the decent Cavs I'm afraid.

A bit past the end of the quality Cavs. $20 with free shipping so I’m not too disappointed. Maybe someone else can find a place for it in their collection?
